The five notable higher teaching, research, and learning institutions that work on issues related to climate change adaptation and mitigation and sustainable development, the ability of agriculture to withstand challenges, managing natural and water resources, alternative energy, and environmental care.

Arba Minch University (AMU), located in Ethiopia, is in charge of overseeing the project, handling its administration, finances, and scientific activities. The university will provide a place for students who are studying areas like sustainable water resource engineering, irrigation and drainage engineering, climate change, along with climate change and sustainable development, water and environmental engineering, and hydropower engineering, which emphasizes renewable energy, sustainable management of water resources, and agriculture practices that can endure climate shifts.

The University for Development Studies (UDS) in Ghana contributes knowledge and expertise training in irrigation and drainage engineering, integrated watershed management, and soil and water conservation and management, with a focus on sustainable agricultural practices, effective supply chains, and environmentally friendly farming.

Malawi’s Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) addresses the climate’s impact on food systems and agricultural resilience. Expertise in training in Irrigation Engineering, climate change and sustainable development, and sustainable agriculture, effectively environmentally friendly farming.

Njala University (NU) in Sierra Leone provides skills and expertise training in agroecology, natural resource management, environmental management, and coastal resilience, with a focus on agroecology, natural resource management, soil and water engineering, land degradation, and biodiversity conservation to assist students in researching sustainable land management and climate-resilient agricultural practices development that do not damage the environment.

Wageningen University (WU) in the Netherlands serves as the technical partner, providing capacity building and quality assurance to the consortium.
