Recognition of Studies

A key aspect of the AAM-CSD project is that the time students spend studying abroad is fully acknowledged by their home university. To ensure this happens, students who want to earn credits must have a “Learning Agreement” in place. Similarly, staff must have Mobility Agreements that are signed by both their home and host universities before they begin their time abroad. This agreement is a formal document made and signed by the student, their academic advisor at the home school, and their academic advisor at the host university before they start their mobility. It outlines the specific classes to be taken or the tasks to be completed, along with research activities and the related credits that need to be earned. This process guarantees that any credits gained during the study abroad experience are smoothly transferred and recognized as part of the requirements for their degree or professional growth after they return. When the mobility period concludes, the host university provides a “Transcript of Records. ” The home university then utilizes this transcript to grant the student the previously agreed credits, confirming that their time abroad is an essential component of their academic program.
