To qualify for an AAM-CSD scholarship, applicants need to be citizens and residents of any African nation. The initiative categorizes participants into two primary groups: Target Group 1 (TG1) and Target Group 2 (TG2). TG1 consists of students or employees who are currently enrolled at or work for one of the partner universities involved in the project. TG2 includes students or staff from any other accredited African university. For those applying for a Master’s degree, having a relevant Bachelor’s degree is necessary, whereas PhD applicants need to have earned a Master’s degree. Candidates should also meet the required educational background for their level (Master’s or PhD) and show a clear connection between their research interests and the themes of the project. It is essential to have a solid academic performance and demonstrate good skills in the language used for instruction at the host institution, which is typically English. Generally, individuals who have received a previous Intra-Africa/Intra-ACP scholarship or have spent over 12 months in Europe in the last five years are usually ineligible. For staff mobility, it is important to be actively working at a partner institution and have a clear plan that shows how the mobility will be beneficial for both the individual and the host department. Trainer Mobility is short-term.
